Vision and Mission

We envision a society where education is a part of everyday-life, self-determined and accessible for everyone. In this society the people themselves decide on what and how they learn. They are empowered to realize their own ideas and recognize their own knowledge. People organize courses together with former strangers and see this as a common thing to do. Who you meet is no longer defined by belonging to a social class but rather based on common interests. People continuously take new roles like mentoring or carrying out organizational tasks and thereby meet at eye-level.

To make this vision a reality, we are working on Openki. The online-platform openki.net brings people together and facilitates finding locations for self-organized courses. We see this as a part of an evolving, co-created toolbox for self-organized education and self-organization in general.

We continuously expand this set of tools and experiences. Therefore we support each other throughout the process of organizing courses, plan events like workshops and boost discussions on self-determined education.

At the moment we concentrate on Zürich as a pilot region and a starting point for the process of building up an organically growing community.
